Supporting paragraphs of writing task two irrespective of it being general or academic, should be not more than two or three. If the questions are regarding advantages and disadvantages or agree and disagree, two paragraphs are enough whereas if it being regarding problems causes and solution, it can have three paragraphs for each. Each paragraph should be well organized with the first sentence being topic sentence with no linking words as it should be an individual one and do not depend on any other sentence.

IELTS has writing task one and two which amounts to total of one hour of the whole IELTS exam. Both the tasks have different question such as task 1 having graphical representation and task 2 an essay, where the latter carries more weightage. Therefore the introduction of the task 2 essay should be written clearly and well organized furthermore rich in vocabulary. Candidate should write three sentences alone for task 2 essay, it can be either general or academic, but should follow the same rule.

Achieving band 9 in IELTS speaking needs to know the band descriptors with which the examiner assesses the candidates speaking skills. Since it is not about knowledge, candidates can even make false statements but it should be grammatically correct with proper pronunciation and fluency without any fillers. There are four band descriptors in IELTS speaking, such as fluency where the candidate will be assessed for his speaking skill where he should use less filler and should not hesitate in English usage or choosing words.

Candidates must follow some strategy for scoring band 9 in reading as this part of the test is the one which tends to be more challenging for most of the candidates who sit for IELTS; which may be due to the fact that they are not aware of the challenges which they might need to overcome. Candidates are never advised to go directly for the passage, they can first go to the questions and then followed by skimming the passage instead of reading all the lines and they should exactly skim for keywords.

Achieving band 9 in listening needs more practice and also overcoming the challenges listed below. There are many challenges, the first being the accent which can be British or Australian or American accents. The pace of the audio plays a vital role as it will be increasing throughout the four sections and the candidate should able to follow the words as there may be more than two speakers in section three in particular. Third, there might be distractors during the listening test especially when numbers are mentioned as they may give the wrong one first followed by the right one.

IELTS examination writing in particular, are assessed manually by a certified IELTS examiner. They assess with certain format which is being mandatory for task 1 and task of both general and academic writing. Task 1 of general has letter writing where the tone of the letter is given first preference as the candidate should be aware whether the letter is formal, semi-formal or informal and the tone should be maintained accordingly till the end.

IELTS writing task two is for forty minutes and the words should be a minimum of 250, the candidates are advised to write a minimum of 270 words though. Here the candidate will be given a topic asking whether the candidate agree or disagree to it; else advantages and disadvantages of it, else causes – problems – solutions for it. This task contains more marks thank task one, so it is advised for the students to start this first and then followed by task 1 writing. Paraphrasing skills, spelling and development of simple, compound and complex structures in the essay will be assessed.

IELTS speaking exam takes place separately on a day and not along with other modules; and the total duration will be from twelve to fifteen minutes. The speaking is divided into three parts. First parts will have 8 questions, where questions will be posed regarding two topics with four questions under each topic. This part will be from general topic like family, friends and even mirrors too.

IELTS General writing task one is for the candidate who seek occupation at western countries, permanent residency and for those who try for securing a job offer as the country demands so for them. Task one is for twenty minutes and the words should be a minimum of 150, the candidates are advised to write a minimum of 160 words though. Here the candidate will be given a letter topic followed by three related issues. The letter tone should be analysed with respect to the topic and receiver whether is a formal letter or semi – formal letter or informal letter.

IELTS General Reading is for the candidates who seek occupation at western countries, permanent residency and for those who try for securing a job offer as the country demands so for them. This general reading is for 60 minutes and out of which there will be three sections. Unlike listening test, extra time of ten minutes will not be provided for transferring your answers to the answer booklet from the questions, therefore it is recommended that to either write the answer in your answer sheet directly or allocate ten minutes of time for it in the end.
