How to score band 9 in IELTS listening ?

Achieving band 9 in listening needs more practice and also overcoming the challenges listed below. There are many challenges, the first being the accent which can be British or Australian or American accents. The pace of the audio plays a vital role as it will be increasing throughout the four sections and the candidate should able to follow the words as there may be more than two speakers in section three in particular. How to score band 9 in IELTS writing ?

IELTS examination writing in particular, are assessed manually by a certified IELTS examiner. They assess with certain format which is being mandatory for task 1 and task of both general and academic writing. Task 1 of general has letter writing where the tone of the letter is given first preference as the candidate should be aware whether the letter is formal, semi-formal or informal and the tone should be maintained accordingly till the end.





IELTS Writing task two

IELTS writing task two is for forty minutes and the words should be a minimum of 250, the candidates are advised to write a minimum of 270 words though. Here the candidate will be given a topic asking whether the candidate agree or disagree to it; else advantages and disadvantages of it, else causes – problems – solutions for it. This task contains more marks thank task one, so it is advised for the students to start this first and then followed by task 1 writing. Paraphrasing skills, spelling and development of simple, compound and complex structures in the essay will be assessed.





IELTS General writing task one

IELTS General writing task one is for the candidate who seek occupation at western countries, permanent residency and for those who try for securing a job offer as the country demands so for them. Task one is for twenty minutes and the words should be a minimum of 150, the candidates are advised to write a minimum of 160 words though. Here the candidate will be given a letter topic followed by three related issues. The letter tone should be analysed with respect to the topic and receiver whether is a formal letter or semi – formal letter or informal letter.





IELTS General Reading

IELTS General Reading is for the candidates who seek occupation at western countries, permanent residency and for those who try for securing a job offer as the country demands so for them. This general reading is for 60 minutes and out of which there will be three sections. Unlike listening test, extra time of ten minutes will not be provided for transferring your answers to the answer booklet from the questions, therefore it is recommended that to either write the answer in your answer sheet directly or allocate ten minutes of time for it in the end.





IELTS academic reading

IELTS Academic Reading is for the candidates who want to go for further and higher studies and also job seekers who want a profession in nursing tutor or school teacher as the country demands so for them. This academic reading is for 60 minutes and out of which there will be three sections. Difference between IELTS and PTE

PTE is a computer based test where all the four modules: Speaking, writing, reading and listening are conducted on the same day and all together with a ten minute of optional break between the last two modules. PTE has been emerging recently and have been an approved test for Australian PR from November 2017. PTE is scored between 0 – 90 for each individual module. Tests are conducted every day which can be even booked a day prior to the test. Results are usually sent within five days.
